What more does a girl want?

There was fashion and good company. So, the trunk show was really nice. As always with Washington DC black social events – glam. Given the nature of this event – afro-chic glam. There were a few designers, all local – it is nice that everyone is going for the afro-bohemian chic look these days. There was plenty of creativity there. A couple of the featured designers have their websites here, here, and here. Sorry I didn’t really take good pictures and so I didn’t want to embarass myself putting them up here. Among these, Cote Minou (By two Camerounian designers – Stephanie Mouapi and Maryanne Mokoko) seems to have a very promising future – their clothes are chic and so very now. Each subsequent show they hold demonstrates how much they are maturing as designers.
I probably won’t make it to the rest of the events but they seem interesting. Wine tasting on friday – south African wines, saturday – a tour of the DC (smithsonian) African museum and on Sunday the great finale – an all white party ! (watch out Diddy !)
